I may have to get some MP in with ya so you can show me the ropes then. DK mentoring FTW! :D

As for the mic, that'd be great if you could get that fixed. Maybe Santa will bring you a new mic/controller? ;)

I know I am in the minority here but I love Gears 3 and try to play a couple times a week and having a blast playing mp.Skyrim is great but sometimes over whelming with all the quest i have todo. When I only have a half hour to game, if I pop in Skyrim for that 30 minutes I end up with 10 more quests and a feeling of not accomplishing anything. Witch is great content wise but not so great with the shortness of time..Thats why I return to gears 3 and its mp..I can get few games in that short period of time...I am trying to sort out my mic issue, not sure if its mic or controler or a setting some were...

<AWKWARD SILENCE> lol ;-)

If you wanna get into the tech industry now's the time. San Fran, Austin, Silicon Valley...it's big. The UX Design space is wide open, and you can be self taught. Check the sources out there if it's something that interests you. You can absolutely get into the industry as a designer.

That's awesome that your company allows for that. I would think it would be wonderful for morale as well as to spur internal change and development. Don't suppose you folks are hiring...? :)

Where I think the tablet market has a lot of potential is in taking the place that "convertable" laptops (once called "Tablet laptops") were always supposed to. Thought certain tablets *cough* are very overpriced, once that market settles I would like to see affordable multi-function packages for tablets--consisting of an upright, height-adjustable dock with a quality BlueTooth keyboard and (possibly, though not necessarily) a mouse.

For many folks that use the PC exclusively for internet/social sites/email and an office suite--and therefore won't miss the extra power & graphical output potential of a traditional desktop--this could easily become a flexible, multi-function desktop/tablet solution. Do you productivity at the desk, then pull the tablet and go wherever you want for recreational PC use. Granted this is more or less possible now if you combine all of the disparate pieces, but I think having an easy all-in-one solution for the not-so-tech-savvy (read: the majority of the world) could key in to a dormant market and really reinforce the tablet market.

I'll concede that that goes against almost everything the current tablet market is based on--the "cool" factor combo of touch-based navigation and portability--but it would finally combine the nebuluous PC market for the general populace. Having a desktop & laptop is no longer necessary for most folks at that point. As tech--in general--gets increasingly advanced, the key focus needs to be on flexibility, cross-platform/tech integration, and simplified, enhanced usability interfaces. The purpose of advancing tech should be to make lives easier and less cluttered, and I think tablet-based setups could certainly do all that. What do you folks think?

I absolutely understand your point Atlas. The old keyboard and mouse (or trackpad in some cases) still have a very relevant role in my life also. Here's how I broke it down functionally (and in priority):

Desktop:
Work stuff
Writing/Editing
Gaming

iPad:
Kindle
Internet Browsing
Apps

As you can see, for me, the iPad is the means by which we only have a handful of conventional books anymore. Yes, I could just get a Kindle, but being able to also have what amounts to a just under a laptop at my disposal is worth the extra funds. I use my iPad for ingesting information mostly; books, RSS feeds, Facebook, Linkedin, so on and so forth. My desktop is always available for any heavy hitting stuff I've got on my plate. My work will always warrant me having a full setup until the next quantum leap in technology occurs.

For me, the iPad enhances my ability to take in information, it wasn't intended to fully replace a laptop for me.
